is now visible... Have you had a chance to take a ride or stroll to the
corner of Cermak and Oak Park to see the striking new windows on the
east side of the Berwyn National Bank building?
Berwyn
Center, LLC., the current owners and developers of the bank building
are continuing in their efforts to restore this architectural
treasure. This building is one of several in Berwyn which is listed on
the National Register of Historic Places. Berwyn Center is waiting for
work to be completed by ComEd to tuck-point the rear wall at which time
they will also complete the final touch-up on the east wall.
All
of the parapets have been repaired and the roof work will commence
next. Once the building is weather tight, and since the interior
demolition has been completed, the long awaited interior restoration
will begin.
