Our Commitees:
Berwyn
Main Street is ready to let the volunteers loose! Our four committees
are seeking more volunteers from the community; see below to find the
committee that most interests you, and please forward this information
to anyone who might be interested in joining our efforts.
Organization Committee:
works to ensure that the necessary funding and people are in place to
carry out the revitalization program. This involves recruiting members
and volunteers, publishing newsletters, fundraising, and partnering
with private sponsors.
Design Committee:
shapes the physical image of the Cermak Road corridor by selecting
appropriate landscaping, facade, signage and lighting for the area.
This involves reviewing development proposals, adopting standards for
improvements, and ensuring that the corridor is clean and
well-maintained.
Economic Restructuring Committee: works
to strengthen and diversify the corridor's economic vitality by
retaining key businesses as well as attracting new ones. The committee
conducts inventories of existing businesses and properties, and helps
suggest strategies for economic development.
Promotions Committee:
focused on building the image of the Cermak Road corridor through
advertising, special events and cultural programs. This group is active
in developing activities that encourage investor confidence and
consumer activity.
